Masturbation.

I have found a website on this topic and it is absolutely hilarious!! (http://www.lightplanet.com/mormons/daily/sexuality/overcoming_masturbation.html)

This is clearly a religious website which provides guidelines for overcoming a masturbation 'problem'.

The main advice seems to centre around the need to cut off friends who also masturbate, yeah great advice but what are you supposed to do, give all your friends 20 questions on a very personal topic? As if!!

The importance of never being alone, so how am i supposed to sleep? Do i have to ask my mom if i can get in with her? mmm can really see that happening.

Finally, and most obviously, the need to read scriptures and pray..but get this, your not allowed to ask for help with this problem, your just supposed to ignore it.

Oh and a few more include, not looking in the mirror too much, wearing tight clothes in bed and leaving the bathroom door slightly open.

This is a must read!!!!

The object of it being that if you follow these guidelines you will; 'Simply get back on track and don't look back. Until you commit yourself to never do it again you will always be open to temptation.'

So religion hates those who masturbate?

But they hate rapists aswell. Which is worse?

I understand that masturbating can lead to more tempting activities, such as sexual intercourse, but come on, if more people knocked one off once in a while there would be a lot more happy faces in the world and the use of prostitutes would decline.

Alternatively, you could follow the advice of the website, never play with yourself, be miserable, have no friends ( because most people are guilty of having a quick one now and then), never have any privacy, be unable to sleep and leave the house looking like crap..choice is yours!!

SMOKING!!

Right so today im going to start again.

I've just had a very interesting look at a report on the BBC news website, surrounding smoking.

Apparently; in 2004-5 the Tresury took a huge £8billion in taxes from smokers and pay out approximately £1.5billion in treating patients with smoking related diseases.

So, in effect, they made a profit of £6.5 billion from us smokers and want to cut down the amount of smokers in this country.

Now, with a recession that does not make any sense to me what so ever.

To add to this point further, it appears that 3,000 people are employed by tobacco industries in the UK, even more of a reason not to cut down.

They have tried everything, banning smoking in public places, heightening prices on tobacco and now they want to put the products out of sight.

Everyone i know has at least 1 guilty pleasure. Either smoking, drinking or over-indulging, now im moderation these are relatively harmless, but still, the government want to take these pleasures away.

Adverts on bad fat, how to quit smoking and alcohol units are common place on UK Television.

But what i would like to know, is how this country would survive without the tax they take from food, alcohol and tobacco?

They would severely struggle.

But still they want to cut it out to aviod too much pressure on the National Health Service. Let me ask you this, how does the NHS survive? Through tax-payers money.

In conclusion, i am entitled to my cigarettes because i pay my tax, and therefore, i am entitled to health care if i want to continue to kill myself.

Smokers pay more than enough into the economy, a massive £6.5 billion, and i bet that a large majority of that is invested in our hospitals.

On average, £4.10 is made from a typical £5.50 packet of cigarettes, which for me would work out at nearly £1,500 per year.

I think i've paid for my health care, so why do they lecture me?

Finally, it's about time the government got a grip, they are ok lecturing me about how bad smoking is, and yes, it does kill people, but look how many people get cancer that have never smoked in their life.

Stop lecturing me because i've paid my way and i've made a decision as a working adult.

I bet they don't complain when my tax from my cigarettes are paying for their expenses, like the seond house etc...ohhh now that's slightly controversial!!!!

New Ideas.

Today i watched the news :)

What is going on with this idea of raising the price of alcohol?

http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/7944334.stm
Has someone gone completely insane?
So..fair enough drinking heightens liver failure but seriously, what on earth happened to free-will in this country?
First of all there was the smoking ban. Now as a smoker i think that move was a complete disgrace.
So yes, it's true that second hand smoke is a killer, but if you don't want to experience it, then don't venture into the smoking area!!!
Secondly, by banning smoking in public places, pubs greatly suffered. To make things worse they got another bashing when the recession hit and to add salt to the wound they now want to heighten the price of alcohol!
This is a complete disgrace.
Not only can we not smoke but we get rinsed on drinking aswell?
What impact will this have on our pubs?
As if they haven't suffered enough already. This would surely secure their meltdown.
But the true principal is that we have a leaders who think that can control every aspect of our lives. If i want to kill myself by smoking and drinking i will, and do you know why? Because i pay my taxes and if i want to live my life like that..i will because i've earnt it.
Why don't the government ever target real issues.. such as punishing the baks for gambling so much money or concentrating on saving money by getting rid of the millions of illegal immigrants that waste my money?
But no, they target me. I pay my taxes and i pay my national insurance, i work hard and they want to deny me of a cigarette and a drink? My pleasures? Does this make any sense at all?

Infidelity and trust.

Today i am going to continue my thoughts on infidelity.
I would like to state that infidelity is not the problem.
It is the trust that is damaged through the act that makes it such a moral problem.
If a person commits infidelity they betray the trust of their partner which is why the relationship becomes damaged.
So..on that..i would like to know why we have discussed infidelity when clearly it is trust that is the issue?
When we form relationships we gain trust in another person, if this is damaged then it is relatively impossible to re-form that relationship.
However, other things can also damage trust in a relationship, such a lying, scheming or a complete change of behaviour. Yet adultery is the only topic considered.
Is it not important to discuss other problems in relationships, such as violence or abuse?
I would like to know why the present society place such an interest on sex and cheating when the act itself is NOT the issue.

As this websites demonstrates, forgiveness is the only way to re-build a relationship which has been damaged by this act and expresses the loss of trust caused by it.

Divorce due to infidelity

So....Infidelity.
I have decided that infidelity occurs in happy marriages, which still doesn't make complete sense to me but the moral of the tale is to talk about things with a partner rather than be unfaithful.
So i guess my response is that infidelity could be avoided but the human race are far to selfish and separation has been made far to easy. Less people are getting married and this means that marriage vowels are not taken as seriously anymore which ultimately means higher divorce rates.
Lust is a natural human emotion but some respect should be given to the partner concerned.
I do not agree with infidelity but it's true extent is purely a moral issue, the website below advises on how to survive infidelity in a marriage, it's strengths seem to revolve around the process of divorce and separation of children, which i personally think are the main outcomes of infidelity as it is so difficult to regain trust after such a betrayal.
